Moonlight Media and IT is a family-run technology company based in Missoula, Montana. We help businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest make technology more reliable, secure, and easier to manage.
Our Story
After college, Mike began working for a startup that provided IT and web design services. When the business struggled and had to change direction, he moved into construction to make a living. What was supposed to be temporary became six years, and eventually it became clear that he needed to make a change.
Amanda encouraged Mike to leave a job that was no longer making him happy. He took a position at a golf course—fitting for someone who loves golf—while figuring out what came next. Around that time, a conversation with his former employer changed everything. His former employer offered to become a client if Mike started his own technology company.
With Amanda’s encouragement, financial support, and belief in the idea, Mike decided to take the risk. Moonlight Media and IT was born.
Three years later, the company continues to grow. What Mike is most proud of is not simply keeping the business going—it is earning the trust of clients who rely on Moonlight Media and IT to support their organizations. Taking the leap was a major risk, but building lasting client relationships has proven that it was the right one.
Moonlight remains a family business with an eye toward the future. Mike’s hope is that Amanda will eventually join the company full-time, bringing her design skills to the business while helping lead its administrative and bookkeeping work. The long-term vision is to continue building Moonlight together.
